    EbbWorld's Mission Statement

Concerning the website…EbbWorld is merely my outlet for my thoughts, insights, and observations about the world that I live in and about life, love, and why.  I seek to express my intellectual, emotional, and spiritual capacities via various creative mediums, but mostly through writing.  This is my ultimate goal: to thoughtfully and humbly provoke peoples' minds, hearts, and spirits towards Truth, whatever and where ever that may be.  I want people to think for themselves and make conclusions for themselves.  It doesn't matter whether its about theology, philosophy, sexuality, etc., I want to engage the depths of persons that we so easily repress and subdue with our everyday superficial diversions.

Concerning entertainment…EbbWorld also exists to educate and entertain.  I am not a deep thinker all the time and I want to exhibit my "ebb and flow" nature as much as possible, for recreational thought and activities are a part of our lives.  If EbbWorld can merit a smile from you from time to time, I have accomplished one of my most important goals.

Concerning religion…I am a Christian, or more specifically, a follower of a 1st Century Palestinian Jew.  I adhere to no formal denomination though and submit myself to none of man's doctrines or his pride-induced decrees about Christianity.  My only master is my Savoir and my doctrine is His inerrant physical Word: the Bible, breathed into the unique personalities of 40 different men, existing 1,500 years apart, and living on three separate continents. (Please see link) I acknowledge the vital roles the prophets and kings of old and early church fathers played, but I realize they were damned men just like myself destined for Hellish eternity, unable to do anything righteous or good apart from the Father's will, existing solely to glorify the coming and living Christ and live as flawed examples to teach future generations.  My closest technical affiliation is to the Protestant evangelical theological school of thought. And though I call myself a Christian, my pursuit of Truth is never-ending…  I acknowledge others' beliefs and do my best to respect, honor, and educate myself about them, but I'd be dishonest and ignorant to myself to accept them as truths themselves, co-existent and co-equal with my own discovery of Truth.  I believe the 2 + 2 will always equal 4 and only equal 4…a narrow and exclusive mathematical truth indeed, yet a truth that harmoniously exists within an orderly universe… (Please see link)

Concerning doctrines…I believe in one God, existing in three distinct parts: as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit, co-equal in power and authority, yet unique in subsistence. (Please see link)  I believe God incarnated as the fully human and fully God-man of Jesus Christ at a specific moment in human history at a specific location on planet Earth. (Please see link) I believe this man, Jesus Christ, walked this earth and performed many miracles while on it.  I believe this man physically died on a cross and then rose from the dead three days later to prove His self-claimed divinity once and for all.  I believe God sent his Holy Spirit into believers' hearts as an intangible guide as He said He would after His Ascension.  I also believe Christ's death paid the price set on each specific human being, past, present, and future because of humanity's sin that eternally separates us from and makes us enemies of God apart from, and only apart from, His saving grace.  I believe we only get this life to accept His gift, this unmerited grace, and this offer exists until we take our last breath. (Please see link) After that comes Judgment and then eternity in Heaven or Hell.  I believe in Heaven and Hell, but I believe those realms exist extra-dimensionally, concerning that which we cannot detect or see.
I believe good works and a righteous lifestyle, although irrevocably unable to save anyone from damnation, are the natural product of repentant and forgiven people.  Along the same lines, I believe baptism is an outward sign of an inward salvation God has already done in an induvidual.

Concerning the future…EbbWorld is purely a passion of mine.  I make no money off this venture and in fact lose it. But I love this creation of mine and hope that anyone and everyone finds some part of EbbWorld interesting, fun, or beneficial to their lives.  Where it goes I cannot say.  I will try to continue to provide the insightful and thought-provoking content you've come to know and love.  I also desire to expand my creative and cultural horizons, increasing the width of EbbWorld's offerings.

Concerning my readers…I love you guys and thank you for your support!

"Thus I stretch out my arms to my Savoir, who, after being foretold for four thousand years, came to die and suffer for me at the time and in the circumstances foretold.  By his grace I peaceably await death, in the hope of being eternally united to him, and meanwhile I live joyfully, whether in the blessings which he is pleased to bestow on me or in the afflictions he sends me for my own good and taught me how to endure by his example."
    -Blaise Pascal
