Some of you may be wondering why EbbWorld hasn't been covering the Playstation 3 launch
(due this Friday, Nov. 17th) very much. Sure I put up that cool banner of all the next-gen systems like a year ago, and I have voiced
my opinion on the PS3 and next-gen hardware in general a couple times - but where's the zeal, the passion? Did preorder one like I did the PS2
a year in advance you ask? Am I camping out for one like a hardcore gamer should? What happened to the nerd guy that pretty much spent the
first half of his senior year in high school on Final Fanatsy VII for PS1, the dork guy that stood in line for hours for a PSP, the
dweeb guy that can beat Arkanoid with ease, the egghead guy that has about 10 videogame related t-shirts, the dullard guy whose
restaurant reservation alias is Ken Masters, the loser guy who used to clean his PS2 on a regular basis….what happened to that guy?
…well I'm still that same nerd guy - I guess I just realize I don't need a PS3 right now. Add to the fact that I don't have the time
or money either and you have some pretty justifiable reasons why I'm not taking off work, camping in some ugly, cold rainy weather,
and hanging out with fellow uber-dweebs cool guys. Oh I'll get one...one day; but not Friday, and probably not for many months. The first
batch of units are always the glitchy ones anyways. Also, I've got my beloved Final Fantasy XII very demanding schoolwork to keep
me busy for a couple months.
But here's to the PS3. You may have made some stupid decisions with her Sony, but at least
she's finally here. (did I just refer to the PS3 in the feminine? It is sexy looking.)
