March 1, 2006 - 02/05 Utah trip So I went out to visit Marit from Feb. 17-21. It was a wonderful time. All too short though as usual. It will be a happy day if Marit and I are ever living in the same state... ) Marit looking cute during our walk up the snowy road on one of the mountains where the Sundance Resort is. ) Cool house #1 ) Cool house #2 ) Very large mountain covered in snow. ) Cool house #3. If you're cool, you think "Toy Story gas station". Though it's called Dinoco in the movie, Sinclair stations, which I've never seen before, must've been their influence. ) Sinclair gas...so cool. ) Christ Evangelical Church...Marit's church! Wahoo, what an awesome body of believers! Keep rockin' for Jesus Utahn peeps! ) Beautiful shot of mountains and clouds. The two arrows point to two LDS churches (wards). These things are as common as Starbucks out here. Most of em are within rock-throwing distance of eachother like these two. ) Park City, Utah, South Main St. One of America's best, if not thee best, ski/snowboard resort. ) Main Street. ) The parking meter thingy that ate my credit card. "American Express, leave Park City without it." :) (I got my card back via a cool parking employee) ) Very bright cute couple #3 ) Less bright cute couple #4 ) Bandits Grill & Bar. If you're ever in Park City, eat there, it's great. I had buffalo for the first time there :) ) Mountain town. Just like a beach town, without the beach...and the waves...and the boardwalk...and the boardwalk fries...and the salty air...and the bikinis... ) The view from outside Bandits'. The mountain is right next to the city. In fact, it's actually part of the city. ) Attempt to catch candid picture of Marit #3: fairly-successful. ) I love this picture. Marit looks so cute. ) Up the side streets, onto the slopes. ) Me and Franz. ) Marit trying on a snowboarding helmet that was so big she could've used it as a sledding saucer. ) Like I said, the ski resort is part of the city. Here the lift picks you up 10 feet away from the Main Street sidewalk. Yes! :) ) The jumps down one of the runs. Some guys were doing some sic arials off these. ) More trails. ) On the way home from Park City. Beautiful mountain lake covered in snow nestled in between the Wasatch Mountain Range. Looks like Europe. ) Driving through the canyon. ) Top of one of the peaks. Notice the building to the left. Marit said it was an old abandoned restaurant only accessible by gondola, or James Bond mountain elevator as I call em. ) Awesome, huge, half frozen waterfall on the side of the mountain. The picture doesn't do it justice. ) More pretty scenes. ) I just can't get enough of Sinclair petrol stations. ) I like snow-capped mountains. ) More mountains? I love this picture ) Marit really wanted me to take a picture of the sign where the new BMW dealership was going to be built. How can I refuse? Thanks for coming with me everyone on my photo-journal for my recent trip to Utah. I had a great time and hope my pictures gave you a taste of what it's like out there and how beautiful it is. I pride myself in creating my own photo-journals, though I have nothing against your typical Webshots, etc. Peace! |
