You could say religion plays, and has played, a major role in my life. It usually does in most people's lives. Anyways, a lot of times I'll write about religious/spiritual-type issues. Here's a collection of some of them.

Please feel free to disagree. I do not claim absolute knowledge about the universe we're in. I'm just a seeker of Truth...

"…what we suffer from to-day is humility in the wrong place.  Modesty has moved from the organ of ambition.  Modesty has settled upon the organ of conviction; where it was never meant to be.  A man was meant to be doubtful about himself, but undoubting about the truth; this has been exactly reversed.  Nowadays the part of a man that a man does assert is exactly the part he ought not to assert—himself.  The part he doubts is exactly the part he ought not to doubt—the Divine Reason."

I'm not sure what to think of this...  I will say that I disagree with the "all the issues should be equally weighed" motto.  For example, if abortion is in fact the murder of a human being (as Christians believe), then that one issue is irrevocably more important than tax reform, immigration laws, etc.  For a Christian to "prioritize" the issues (not those affected by the issues mind you) is logically consistent in a Judeo-Christian moral framework.

    The Greatest Injustice

    God and suffering
    -by Cal Thomas (Washington Times)

"Rather than attempt to bring mankind up to God's level, many skeptics try to bring God down to man's level, remaking Him in a human image and thus encouraging the false view that God is someone who is supposed to make us happy and prosperous. If we are unhappy and not rich (or not rich enough), we will deny He exists. Prosperity and good health provide their own motives for unbelief, as C.S. Lewis and numerous other thinkers have eloquently written. "

    -by Diana West (Washington Times)

"By direct contrast, Mr. Stark writes, Christianity did indeed fully embrace the notion that the universe ran on fundamental principles laid down by God at the Creation. "Christianity depicted God as a rational, dependable and omnipotent being and the universe as his personal creation, thus having a rational, lawful stable structure awaiting human comprehension."

    -by Wesley Pruden (Washington Times)

"The rich and oily Middle Eastern kingdoms, fiefdoms and oligarchies have donated only pittances for tsunami relief, like alms tossed to beggars at the village gate. The greedy rulers are no doubt grateful to the imams who are telling their mosques that most of those who drowned, Muslims as well as vacationing infidels, deserved to die because they were only on the beaches to "fornicate." Islam is not about grace, amazing or otherwise. "
