And so... And so the wind blows and the leaves fall just like they did before, and before that. Seasons change and pass and the sun rises once again. I am closer to the grave than yesterday a sobering yet joyful thought. Oh to be in the arms on my Savoir, oh to be face to face, oh what a day, oh what a thought. Gaurantee greater than the sunrise, greater than tomorrow, security beyond doubt. And so Earth’s love continues to tease me, she walks by my side yet runs away. She knows my name yet is so foreign. She wants my hand but resists the future. Why oh why does she comes so close, but remain so far. An arms length, a world away. They say you get wiser as the years pass. But isn’t it ironic that the things you want to keep erode as that wisdom comes? We never have it all, not while attached to this mortal coil. I think it’s good that we don’t, our heads are big enough as it is. I never want it all, that’s not for me. Just give me a hammock, some music, and a lightly sugared iced tea, for all eternity. |
